What Causes Latex Allergy?

The European standard EN 455-3 sets a maximum extractable protein content of 200 micrograms per square decimetre (μg/dm²) for latex gloves. Gloves that meet this limit are classified as “low protein”. Many hospital procurement policies and government tenders specify an even stricter limit, often 50 μg/dm² or lower.
